ANZAC COMMEMORATION 

Oakleigh Carnegie RSL conducts a commemorative service each year on the Sunday morning before the 25th April.  This allows  members and the local community the opportunity to attend the annual commemoration march in Melbourne on ANZAC Day.

Veterans and former service personnel, accompanied by community leaders, the Oakleigh City Band and local scout groups march along Drummond Street, to the Cenotaph (corner of Atherton Road & Drummond Street). Local Counsellors, State and Federal Parliamentarians and representatives from local schools join the Veterans to attend the service at the Cenotaph.

All members of the community are warmly welcomed. Following the service all attendees are invited to return to the Oakleigh Carnegie RSL for refreshments.

The Committee of the Oakleigh Carnegie RSL have yet to nominate the activities to Commemorate ANZAC Day in 2014.

 

 

REMEMBRANCE DAY

Oakleigh Carnegie RSL conducts a commemorative service each year on the Sunday morning before the 11th November.

This service is held at the Cenotaph located on the corner of Atherton Road and Drummond Street Oakleigh at 10.30am.

All members of the community are warmly welcomed.

Local Counsellors, State and Federal Parliamentarians and representatives from local schools and Scout groups join the Veterans to attend the service at the Cenotaph.

Following the service all attendees are invited to return to the Oakleigh Carnegie RSL for refreshments.

Members and guests are welcome to enquire about private functions, as well as seminars and corporate events. We are proud to achieve all of this, whilst being an integral part of the local community, regularly supporting local charities and organisations.

Music

We Support

The RSL has a wonderful, old, vaudeville-style hall. The hall has been used by musicians since it opened in 1922. Today’s musicians enjoy playing the room for the atmosphere and acoustics that this timeless venue provides. All visitors are welcome to enjoy pre-show drinks in the members bar or dinner in the Onion Patch Bistro, a delightfully tasty food platter is also available from Onion Patch Bistro.

From Wednesday to Saturday evening, John and Sue invite you to relax in warm and inviting bistro area where you can enjoy quality meals to suit all taste from vegetarians to meat lovers.

It is John and Sue’s intention to enhance the musical experience by providing good quality food that represents real value for money. You cannot go past John’s beer battered fish and chips!
